POINT REYES STATION LOOP - MARIN, CA

Total Elevation: 2,109 feet

Distance: 36.9 miles

Approx. Time: 2 hours

This little blast through West Marin is a great quick ride if you are short on time and want to soak in a little rural farmland and some redwoods without (too) much climbing.

DIRECTIONS

Starting out from the Fairfax Coffee Roasters you head West on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and get your climb out of the way! You’ll hit White's Hill and it’s a beauty. It’s pretty steep but it’s not too long and the backside is a breezy drop down into some of the most picturesque West Marin views around. Rolling hills with perfect Oaks tucked into the crevices. Beautiful. Keep on Sir Francis Drake through Woodacre and into San Geronimo where you'll hook a right just past the golf course onto Nicasio Valley Rd. If you feel like stopping to sip and have a nibble at Roy’s Redwoods on your right I won’t blame you. Immediately after Roy’s there’s a good little kicker up behind French Ranch and then a quick drop down into Nicasio Valley. After you pass the Nicasio Reservoir on your left you’ll take sketchy left (there is always traffic moving at a good clip so use caution) onto Point Reyes Petaluma Road. You’ll curve around the base of Black Mountain and drop down into Point Reyes Station. Plenty of spots to eat/fill water/grab coffee, etc. Head south on Shoreline highway into Olema and take a left on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. to your second to last climb of the day to maybe the lowest point on the Bolinas Ridge. Theres a fast little descent down into Jewell and then a relaxing roll through the redwoods of Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Keep on Sire Francis Drake all the way out over White’s Hill and back down into Fairfax.
